On October 26 the first meeting of private gardeners took place in Kyiv, thanks to the synergy of efforts by the owner of the online store “The farmstead of seeds” and the company Integro (TM Gumino de Gallina). 40 participants from Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Rivne, Kyiv regions came to the meeting. The program turned out to be quite informative and interesting and the atmosphere of the meeting warm, friendly and productive.
At the beginning of the meeting each participant enthusiastically spoke a little about themselves and all the participants wanted to share their experiences and learn something new.
The participants of the meeting heard interesting reports about:
– how to avoid redistribution when buying seeds of flowers and vegetables (owner of the online store “The farmstead of seeds”, Master of Agriculture, Datsko Lyudmila);
– landscape design: easy or difficult? (landscape designer Gubina Irina);
– use of biological products “Living Earth” on the garden plots (agronomist of BTU-Center company Makovkin Ivan);
– peculiarities of application of biological preparations on personal plots (leading researcher of the Department of General and Soil Microbiology, DK Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology of NAS of Ukraine, Dr. Bilyavska Lyudmila);
– seed literacy: organics and permaculture on the garden plots (an expert in developing organics in Ukraine, Sitnik Tetyana);
– the particularities of use of natural (organic) fertilizers in the example of the Gumino de Gallina fertilizer (specialist of Integro company, Derechin Evgen);
– cultivation of spicy-aromatic crops on the garden plots as well as harvesting and post-harvest processing and storage (Head of the Department of Selection and Seed Production of the IAP NAAS Research Station, Master of Agriculture, Honored Agricultural Worker, Kutsenko Natalia);
– pollinators of gardens and greenhouses – Mason bees Osmia (amateur breeder of Mason bees Garbuz Volodymyr);
– creation of the dream garden: practical tips (landscape designer, Polyakova Anya).
Olga Kirichyshina, editor-in-chief, ideological Director of Ogorodnik Magazine, told about the magazine, its publications and invited everyone to cooperate.
Also at the meeting participants could buy organic fertilizers, grown by gardeners of seeds of tomatoes, peppers and flowers, Dutch seeds of vegetables and flowers, petrique goods, biologicals for plant protection and soil improvement, spicy aromatic herbs, as well as herbs tea, bulrush (houses) for Mason bees.
At the end of the meeting all participants expressed their desire to meet again in February or March and discuss the specificities of preparation for the 2020 gardening season.
